Dear colleagues,

The 46th Linguistics Colloquium will take place at the Faculty of Journalism, Lucian-Blaga-University Sibiu from the 14.-17. September 2011. We cordially invite you participate. The theme of the conference is:
«Quo vadis, Communication?»
Communication-Language-Media
In accordance with the tradition of the Linguistics Colloquium, we have consciously left the theme very open, so that participants are encouraged to report on their diverse research interests and the current focus of their work. The title of the conference underlines the fact that media is nowadays very important in communication. At the same time, we establish a connection between the conference theme and the title of the Proceedings of the 37th Linguistics Colloquium which took place in September 2003 in Jena under the direction of Prof. Dr. Rolf Herwig.
The conference will give room for plenary keynote speakers. The following speakers have been invited:
Prof. Dr. Ralf Hohlfeld (Passau), Prof. Dr. Helmut Lüger (Koblenz/Landau), Prof. Dr. Heinrich Weber (Tübingen), Prof. Dr. Eugène van Itterbeek (Belgium).
In the Parallel sessions contributions from all areas of linguistics/communication science are welcome. The following themes are proposed for the parallel sessions:

The parallel sessions can be broadened in their scope or reorganized in accordance with the papers received and accepted.
Although the themes proposed above are certainly not final, we would nevertheless ask presenters to assign their paper proposals to the most appropriate parallel session by theme or to give at least a brief description of the paper's content. Papers may be held in German, English and French. In order to provide time for a brief discussion of each paper (approx. 10 minutes), talks should not exceed 20 minutes.
We look forward to welcoming you in Sibiu!

Best wishes,

Prof. Dr. Ion Dur – Dean
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ioana Creţu – Head of Department Communication und Public Relations
