The EU\u2019s Human Security Narrative in Response to Russia\u2019s Invasion of Ukraine: A Framing Theory Perspective<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Arma\u011fan G\u00f6zkaman<\/strong> is a Professor of European Union Studies and Chair of the International Relations Department at Istanbul Beykent University<\/a>, where he has been working since 2012. He previously served as Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and as Director of the EU Application and Research Center. He holds a BA in International Relations (1999) and an MA in European Union Studies (2003) from Galatasaray University. As a Jean Monnet Scholar, he completed an MA in Political Science\/European Union Studies at Robert Schuman University (2001). He received a joint PhD from Strasbourg University and Marmara University (2009\u20132010) with a French government scholarship. His research interests include the EU\u2019s foreign relations, international security, and foreign policy analysis. Dr. Arma\u011fan G\u00f6zkaman is a respected and insightful scholar whose rigorous, innovative, and policy-oriented research makes a timely impact on European Union studies, international security, and global diplomacy. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Securing the Future: Cyber Resilience and Global Stability in the Era of AI-Enhanced Warfare<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ana-Maria Bu\u0219oniu is the General Director of the Intermediary Organism for Promoting the Information Society within the Authority for the Digitalization of Romania<\/a> since October 2021. Since July 2024, she has also held the position of General Director of the National Coordination Centre for Cybersecurity (NCC-RO)<\/a>. Mrs. Ana-Maria Bu\u0219oniu began her career in the management of European funds in 2014 at the Ministry of Investments and European Projects, where she was involved in programming and evaluation activities within the Managing Authority for the Large Infrastructure Operational Programme. In 2017, she became Coordinator of the System Coordination Directorate within the same ministry. Subsequently, as Deputy Director General of the Human Capital Operational Programme and later as Director General of the Competitiveness Operational Programme, she was responsible for negotiations with the European Commission services regarding both the European Social Fund and the European Regional Development Fund. One of the main objectives of her work during this period was to support investment initiatives through the simplification of implementation mechanisms and to ensure effective management aimed at increasing the absorption rate of structural funds. In 2019, she was appointed Secretary of State within the same ministry, where she coordinated the implementation of the European Fund for the Most Deprived (FEAD), the EEA and Norway Grants, as well as the ministry\u2019s relations with the Parliament. She subsequently worked at the Presidential Administration, within the Department for Education and Research. Ana-Maria Bu\u0219oniu holds a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Political Science, International Relations, and Security Studies (2009) from Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, and a Master\u2019s degree in Political Communication and Electoral Marketing from the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA). <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Reclaiming Human Security in an Age of Global Security<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ariadna Petri<\/strong> is a conflict resolution and security researcher, analyst, consultant and lecturer. Currently she is a PhD within the Conflict Resolution at Complutense University, Madrid. Her DAAD Fellowship in the Center for Conflict Studies<\/a> of the Philipps-Universit\u00e4t Marburg, and her Europaeum Fellowship from Oxford University articulate her research across the whole spectrum from theoretical research, through policy making and into practice. Previously, Ariadna held researcher and lecturer appointments at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Tel Aviv University, Israeli Institute for National Security Studies, A.I.Cuza University, Bard College and Al-Quds University. Ariadna\u2019s vision for building solutions for communities with high-potential for growth led her to found and manage 10 training programs for leaders, teachers and youth, that helped over 480 young professionals from 32 countries across the EU and Middle East to catalyse their professional and personal development and skills.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Artificial Intelligence Applications in Human Interactions Training \u2013 A Case Study for Human Security Scenarios<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Alexandru Kis<\/strong> is an associate lecturer at the University of Oradea and a reserve officer in the Romanian Army, with field experience in international operations in Angola, Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan. During the last 15 years of his military career, Dr. Kis has specialized in intelligence work at the NATO HUMINT Centre of Excellence (HCOE) in Oradea<\/a>, Romania, where he contributed to multiple NATO working groups focused on doctrine development, training management, and quality assurance. He holds an M.A. in International Relations and Security Systems from the Faculty of Political Science, International Relations, and European Studies at Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, where he has been a member of the Laboratory for Human Security Analysis since 2022. His academic background is complemented by a joint Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Oradea, conducted in cooperation with the Carol I National Defence University in Bucharest<\/a>, with a doctoral dissertation titled \u201dNATO and Human Security\u201d. Dr. Kis has published numerous articles and contributed chapters to several academic volumes in Romania and abroad, addressing a wide range of topics related to socio-human dynamics, cultural awareness, NATO policies, intelligence, and security studies. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dumitru-C\u0103t\u0103lin Vasile<\/strong> is a leading professional in artificial intelligence governance, cybersecurity, and digital transformation. He heads the Department for Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies in the Romanian Ministry of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism<\/a>. With over 20 years in the technology sector, he has held leadership roles at companies including Oracle, Motorola Solutions, and Zebra Technologies, managing cross-regional teams in software development and secure digital infrastructure. He previously advised on Digitalization, AI, and Cybersecurity within Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Digitalization. Mr. Dumitru-C\u0103t\u0103lin Vasile holds an Executive MBA from Tiffin University (Ohio, USA) and several other advanced degrees. He is currently a PhD candidate at SNSPA, researching the impact of AI and digitalization on foreign and defense policies, with a focus on global security, defense strategies, and modern conflict including Lethal Autonomous Weapon Systems and hybrid warfare. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
